Finance -> Revenue
Revenue answers how the money is going over a stretch of time you choose: what you sold, what you paid out, what is left, and what came off the list price to sell it. Under every figure stands what it is made of, each row a way to the record behind it. Further down are the traders behind the money and what they traded, and on the right what you owe right now.
The period
The buttons in the header pick the period: today, the last 7, 30 or 90 days, the last 12 months, or everything since your first sale. Custom opens two dates, for a month, a quarter or any stretch your bookkeeper asks for. Both days count, in the timezone of your firm.
Every period except everything is compared with the stretch of the same length right before it, and the line under the buttons says which dates that is. Today is compared with yesterday up to the same hour, so a morning is never set against a whole day. Each figure shows its change against that period, in green or red only where more is plainly better, such as sales.
The period is in the address, so a reload or a link to a colleague opens on the same figures. The screen also remembers the last period you looked at, apart from the one on the dashboard.
One currency at a time
Amounts in different currencies are never added up. Every figure is in your own currency, and when you ever sold or paid out in another one, a currency button appears in the header to show the figures in that one instead.
Money
Four figures sit above one chart, and clicking one draws it:
- Sales: what traders paid for challenges bought in the period, after every discount. Refunded purchases and purchases by our own team are left out. Under the chart: the number of purchases, the average, how many were given for free, and what was refunded since.
- Payouts: what traders received from payouts paid in the period, their share and not the profit it was split from, with the average and the share of sales.
- Net: sales minus payouts, before costs such as data, payment fees and the platform, with the share of sales you kept.
- Discounts: what came off the list price of the sales in the period, from coupons, deals and the share affiliates pass on to the traders they refer.
The dashed line is the period before. Under the chart stands what the chosen figure is made of:
- For sales and net, every challenge, with what it sold, what was paid out of accounts it started, what is left, the change in sales against the period before, and the share of the challenges bought in the period that reached a funded account. A row opens the challenge. Its menu also opens the payments for it and its funded accounts. A challenge sold last year that pays out now shows here with payouts and no sales, because that is the money of the period.
- For payouts, every payout paid in the period, largest first, with the trader, the account, the challenge, the method and the date. A row opens the payout. The list holds the 500 largest and links to the rest on Payouts.
- For discounts, every coupon, deal and affiliate a sale used, with the sales it took part in, what came off, what those sales brought in, and for an affiliate the commission it earned. The rows add up to the discount figure. Discounts on sales from before payments were recorded, or on a coupon deleted since, are one row of their own. A row opens the coupon, the deal or the affiliate.
Each list can be searched and sorted from its column heads, and a right click opens, copies a name, an ID or a link, or leads to the related list.
Traders
Four more figures over the same period: sign-ups, buyers with how many bought for the first time and the revenue per buyer, conversion as the share of the traders who joined in the period that bought something by now, and how many traders were trading. Your team is never counted.
Under the chart, From purchase to payout follows every challenge bought in the period: how many started trading (opened a first position), passed a phase, reached a funded account and were paid out, with the median time from the purchase to each step. A step counts what reached it or went further, so an instant funding challenge counts as started and passed the moment it is bought. This counts purchases in every currency.
What traders traded
Positions closed in the period, per instrument: the trades, the traders, the lots, the share of trades that won, the result, and the result on funded accounts apart, because that is the profit you pay out. Volume is in lots, because adding up the money value of an index, a currency pair and a share gives a number that means nothing. A row opens the instrument on Instruments.
Owed now
The column on the right does not move with the period. At the top stands what funded traders could ask for today: the profit on their funded accounts above the starting balance, times their split. Under it, two lists:
- Requests: payout requests that wait, the approved ones first and then the ones nobody decided on yet, oldest first. A request is part of the amount at the top until it is paid, never added to it.
- Funded: the funded accounts in profit, largest first, with what the trader could ask for.
J and K walk the list and Enter opens the lit row.
Export
Export downloads the period and currency on screen as a CSV file, in one of four cuts: over time with a line per point of the chart, by challenge, the discounts, or the instruments. Amounts use a point and two decimals so any spreadsheet reads them, and every download is written to the activity log.
Who sees what
Opening Revenue takes the permission to view analytics, which also opens Traffic. The lists that name people follow their own screens: the payouts and the requests only show for a role that may view payouts, an affiliate's name only for a role that may view affiliates, and a row only opens a challenge, a coupon, an account or an instrument when the role may open that screen.
In the older designs
A firm on the OG or Tactical design keeps the page it had: this month's revenue against last month, twelve months of sales and payouts, sign-ups, the funnel of all accounts, the eight most traded instruments, revenue per challenge and the coupon table, without a period to pick. The period, the currency button, the lists under the figures, what you owe and the export are only in the new Default.
