Trading accounts

.md

Every trading account of your firm in one list across the screen, and the one you pick in full beside it, from where it stands against its limits to every trade and day it had.

Trading Accounts in your admin sidebar lists every account your traders hold: the ones still in evaluation, the funded ones and the ones that ended.

You need the view_accounts permission to open the screen and manage_accounts to correct an account, write notes or give a trader a new one. Closing positions needs manage_monitoring, the same permission as in Live Monitoring.

The list

The screen opens on the list alone, across its whole width, and shows no account in full until you pick one.

Each row is an account with its number and whose it is, the challenge with its size and phase, the balance, the result since the start, when it last traded, when it was opened and its status. A mark next to the number counts its open positions. Columns drop off from the right as the screen narrows, and the account always stays.

The head of the list counts the accounts that can still trade and the ones with a position open right now. Clicking either narrows the list to them.

The list holds fifty accounts to a page. The search box finds an account by the start of its number, its acct_ id, the name or email address of its trader, their usr_ id, or the name of its challenge.

The filter menu narrows the list by status, by challenge, by how the account began (bought, given by the firm, or the next phase of an earlier one), by the state of its payment, and to accounts with an open position. The same menu sorts by newest, last trade, account number, size, balance, best result, biggest loss or status, and so does clicking the head of a column.

J and K move through the list and Enter opens the account they rest on. Once an account is open, J and K show each account they rest on. A right click on a row offers what can be done without opening it: open its trader, close all its positions, and copy the account number, id or link.

An account

Picking an account folds the list to a column on the left and slides the account in beside it. The cross in the corner or Escape folds it away and gives the list its width back, with the same filters and page.

Every account has its own address, /admin/trading-accounts/acct_..., and the tab you have open is part of it. The accounts on a trader in Users link here.

The head of an account names its challenge, size and phase and the trader it belongs to, and says when that trader cannot sign in, is on your team, is restricted by fraud detection or has open flags. Under it are the notes somebody pinned, then the balance, the result, the equity with what is open, what the account was bought for or that the firm gave it, and when it started or ended. The menu in the head opens the trader and the previous or next phase of the same challenge.

Changing an account

The bottom of the Overview tab corrects an account by hand: its status, how its payment is recorded, its balance and the reason it ended. Changing the payment charges or refunds nothing. A new balance shows how far it moves from the current one before you save.

Only what you change is saved. The risk engine keeps working while the account is open on your screen, and a breach or a closed trade in the meantime stays as it is rather than being overwritten by what you had loaded.

The bar at the bottom of the screen counts the changes, the notes included, and saves them together. It asks before you move to another account or tab, or close the account, with changes unsaved.

Closing positions

Close all positions in the head, or Close on one position in the Trades tab, closes at the current price after you confirm, the same as from Live Monitoring. The trader gets a notice, the trade is marked as closed by the firm, and the close is in the activity log. It cannot be undone.

Notes

Notes on an account work the way they do on a trader: for your team only, written by anybody who may manage accounts, pinned above every tab when a colleague must not miss them, and saved by the bar at the bottom of the screen with the rest.

Giving an account

New account opens a form in the inspector. Search for a trader who can sign in, pick one of the challenges you sell, and Give account. The account starts the same way a bought one does and shows as given by the firm.

In the older designs

Propper - OG and Tactical keep a table of every account with a separate page to edit one. The tabs, the notes and closing positions from this screen are only in the standard design.
