**Trading -> Copy trading** in your admin dashboard.

Copy trading lets a trader link two of their own accounts. A trade opened on one
is opened on the other, scaled by a lot ratio. This screen lists every pair your
traders made, lets you pause, resume, resize or remove one, and holds the switch
and the rules that every pair keeps to.

You need `view_settings` to open the screen and read the settings, and
`manage_settings` to change them. The pairs name traders and their accounts, so
they follow the account permissions: `view_accounts` to see the list and open a
pair, `manage_accounts` to pause, resume, remove or change the ratio of one.
Somebody without `view_accounts` sees the settings and a line saying the pairs
are hidden. The copying detector needs `view_fraud` to be seen and `manage_fraud`
to be changed, and the Activity tab of a pair needs `view_activity_logs`.

## The list

The screen opens on the list alone, across its whole width, and shows no pair
until you pick one.

Each row is one pair: the trader and both account numbers, the ratio copies are
placed at, how many trades it copied and how many copies were not placed, when it
last copied, when it was linked, and its status. As the list gets narrower the
less important columns leave first. A pair is one row, although it copies both
ways.

| Status | Meaning |
| ---------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Copying | The pair is on and fits your rules |
| Breaks the rules | It no longer fits your rules, and copies nothing until it does |
| Paused by you | Your team paused it. The trader cannot switch it back on |
| Paused by trader | The trader switched it off |
| Copy trading off | Copy trading is switched off for your firm, so nothing copies |

The line under the name counts the pairs and the traders behind them, and the
pairs that break the rules, that you paused, and that had a copy not placed.
Each of those counts is also a filter: click it to see only those pairs. While
copy trading is off the line says so first, and clicking it opens the settings.

Search finds a pair by the trader's name, email address or ID, an account
number or account ID, or the pair's own ID. The filter menu sorts the list
(newest, oldest, most copied, most not placed, last copied, or by trader) and
narrows it by status, by the kind of accounts (two evaluation accounts, two
funded accounts, or one of each), and to pairs with copies not placed. The list
is paged fifty at a time, and the address keeps the search, the filters and the
page.

J and K walk the list. Right-click a row to open it, open the trader, see every
pair of that trader, pause or resume it, copy the account numbers, its ID or its
link, or remove it.

## A pair

Picking a pair folds the list to a column and opens the pair beside it, at an
address of its own, so a link a colleague sends lands on it. Escape or the cross
folds it away again.

The head names the two accounts and the trader, with the status, the reason the
rules refuse the pair when it breaks them, and since when you paused it. Pause
or Resume sits beside it. Under it are the ratio copies are placed at (and what
the trader set, when that is outside your range), how many trades it copied and
how many are open now, how many copies were not placed, its last copy, and when
it was linked.

### Overview

Both accounts, each with its status, whether it is evaluation or funded, its
challenge and how many pairs it is in against your limit per account. Then the
last copy that was not placed and why, each of your rules with whether this pair
keeps it, and the lot ratio.

The ratio is the same in both directions. Somebody with `manage_accounts` can
change it within your range and save it with the save bar at the bottom. The
trader gets a notification of the new ratio and can set it again.

Last, the other pairs of the same trader, so a chain of three or four accounts
reads in one place, with a link that narrows the list to that trader.

### Copies

Every trade the pair copied, in either direction and newest first, fifty to a
page: the instrument and side, which account it went from and to, the size of
the original and of the copy, and how the copy ended.

### Not placed

Every copy the receiving account did not place, with the reason and the trade it
would have copied. These are kept one by one since 11 October 2026. A pair that
had copies refused before that shows how many, and the last reason, which is all
that was kept.

### Activity

When the pair was linked, every ratio, and every pause and resume, by the trader
or by your team, from the [Activity log](/docs/platform/admin/activity-log). A
removal is written there too, under both account numbers.
This is written since 11 October 2026, so an older pair starts its story there.

## Pausing, resuming and removing

**Pause** stops a pair until your team resumes it, and the trader cannot switch
it back on. **Resume** lets it copy again, as long as it keeps to your rules.
**Remove** deletes the pair, and the trader can link the two accounts again if
your rules allow. Each asks first, and each sends the trader a notification so
nobody finds out from a trade that did not copy.

## Settings

The Settings button in the list's header opens the settings in the same place,
at their own address.

| Setting | What it decides |
| ---------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Copy trading | Whether traders can link accounts at all. Off hides it from every trader and stops every copy. The pairs stay |
| Evaluation accounts | Whether accounts still working through a challenge phase may take part |
| Funded accounts | Whether funded accounts may take part. An account bought straight into a funded phase counts as funded |
| Evaluation with funded | Whether an evaluation account may copy with a funded account. Only matters while both kinds may take part |
| Across challenges | Whether two accounts bought on different challenges may be linked |
| Lot ratio | The range a trader picks from, between 0.01 and 10 |
| Pairs per account | How many other accounts one account may copy with, up to 20. Empty means no limit |

A copy is the original size times the ratio, rounded down to the lot step of the
instrument. A pair whose ratio is outside the range copies at the nearest end of
it. The pairs-per-account limit applies when a trader links accounts: an account
already over it keeps its pairs.

The switch is the same one as on [Platform features](/docs/platform/admin/features),
so turning it off in either place turns it off in both.

The rules are checked when a trader links two accounts and again before every
single copy, so a change also holds for pairs that already exist. Beside the form
the screen shows what the settings reach: how many pairs and traders there are,
how many trades were copied and not placed in the last 30 days, and how many
pairs the rules as you typed them would stop. A warning names each thing that
cannot work before you save: copy trading off while pairs exist, no account
allowed to take part, pairs that break the rules, a highest ratio below the
lowest, pairs with a ratio outside the range, and accounts with more pairs than
the limit.

Everything is saved together with the save bar at the bottom, and only what you
changed is sent.

## What happens to a copy

A copy is placed on the receiving account as if the trader had placed it there
by hand. It goes through every check that account would apply to its own trade:
its status, its daily and total loss limits, news rules, your trading rules and
whether it may trade that instrument at all.

A copy that fails any of those is not placed. It is kept on the pair with the
reason, and the trader gets a notification saying which copy was not placed and
why. The same reason on the same pair is notified once an hour at most, so a
trader whose account is breached does not get a message for every trade.

Once placed, a copy follows the original. A new stop loss or take profit on the
original is set on the copy too, while a partial close level the trader set on the
copy itself stays. Closing the original closes the copy. Closing part of the
original, by hand, at a partial close level or from live monitoring, closes the
same share of the copy, rounded down to the instrument's lot step. When what
would be left of the copy is smaller than the instrument allows, the copy closes
entirely, and when the share is too small to take off even the smallest size,
the copy stays whole until the original closes.

## Copying between different traders

Copy trading here is a trader copying themselves. Different traders placing the
same trades is something else, and it is caught by the copying detector of
[Fraud](/docs/platform/admin/fraud). The settings hold that detector too, from
the same configuration as Detectors, so a change in either place shows in both.
Somebody with `manage_fraud` sets its level and every threshold it judges by:
how alike two traders' trades must be, how many trades they need in common, how
close together two trades open to count as the same, and how many days it looks
back. Its open flags are counted with a link to the Review queue. Copies made
through a pair here are left out of it.

## In the older designs

A firm on Propper - OG or Tactical keeps the screen it launched with: the
switches and rules at the top with a summary beside them, the detector's level,
and a list of every link below with pause, resume and remove. Those designs have
no address per pair, no copies, refusals or activity per pair, no changing a
pair's ratio, no figures beside the settings, and no changing the detector from
this screen. Pausing, resuming and removing a pair there also tell the trader. A link to a pair there lands on the list,
searched for its account.
